Salinas, CA, February 01, 2021 - Change for change: That’s the idea behind Goodwill Central Coast’s Round-Up Program, a way for shoppers already saving money to round-up purchases to the nearest dollar and donate that amount to charity.

On Feb. 10, Goodwill shoppers can shop as usual while benefiting Max’s Helping Paw’s Foundation, a local nonprofit that believes financial circumstances should never decide a companion pet’s fate.

This special Round-Up day will take place at all Goodwill locations on the Central Coast. Shoppers can round-up to the nearest dollar.  All of these options are displayed on the credit card terminal machine. All proceeds go directly to the foundation, whose work helps reduces economic euthanasia, surrender and suffering of severely ill or injured pets by providing pet owners assistance with the costs of urgent medical care.

It’s a double feel-good day for shoppers, whose purchases help Goodwill train unemployed or underemployed people for career opportunities.

Max’s Helping Paws Foundation Receives Community Impact Grant from Community Foundation for Monterey County

Max’s Helping Paws Foundation has received a Community Impact Grant of $15,000 to help the Foundation continue assisting pets in a health crisis over the next 18 months.

Carmel, CA, December 22, 2020 — Max’s Helping Paws Foundation has received a Community Impact Grant of $15,000 to help the Foundation continue assisting pets in a health crisis over the next 18 months.

The grant came from the Kathleen and Howard Marks Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Community Impact Grants address critical issues and opportunities for five primary program areas that advance the Community Foundation’s mission and vision for Monterey County. These grants are based on an analysis of local needs, aspirations, assets and opportunities for achieving strategic results.

“The addition of Chestnut Fund grants has left a gap in funding for our core programs, and this grant will help fill that gap,” said Dayna Klein, co-founder and executive director of Max’s. “This is our first grant from the Community Foundation and we’re honored and excited to receive these much-needed funds to help us on our mission.”

Max’s Helping Paws Foundation earns $5,000 grant from Monterey Peninsula Foundation

Max’s Helping Paws Foundation received a financial boost last week through a $5,000 grant from the Monterey Peninsula Foundation

Monterey, CA, June 04, 2020 - Max’s Helping Paws Foundation received a financial boost last week through a $5,000 grant from the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, host of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and PURE Insurance Championship.

The financial gift will go a long way toward furthering Max’s mission of helping local families fund treatment for pets in crisis.

What began in 2016 as a way for Dyana Klein to honor the memory of her beloved dog Maximillian has grown into a critical source of funding for local families, especially during the current pandemic. In March the foundation reached an important milestone, helping more than 250 Monterey County pet owners by providing more than $220,000 in total assistance.

Through it all, the foundation has given Klein a way to help lessen the guilt and heartbreak of other pet owners who might have to allow their pets to suffer, or may need to euthanize or surrender them because of financial circumstances.

The donation is part of Monterey Peninsula Foundation’s ongoing mission to enhance the quality of life in Monterey County and surrounding areas through the strategic disbursement of charitable funds generated by hosting two golf tournaments, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the PURE Insurance Championship.

With close to 80 years of expertise in managing golf events and charitable giving, Monterey Peninsula Foundation focuses on creating positive community change across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties. Find out more about the foundation at www.montereypeninsulafoundation.org.
